PAUL HUNTER - President/Owner The Hunter Group
Paul is a native of the Northern Virginia area. Having grown up in the Fairfax area, Paul has a wealth of local knowledge. Paul graduated from Radford University in 1987 with a B.S. in Liberal Arts. He immediately went into sales with a corporate 500 technology company. Through his 18 years of business experience and extensive management, sales, and negotiation training, Paul has been able to master the skill set of a professional sales person. Armed with a wealth of knowledge and professional training, Paul decided it was time to go out on his own so he started The Hunter Group with RE/MAX Gateway. In Paul's first year with RE/MAX Gateway he was awarded Rookie of The Year by Buffini and Company, a national real estate organization with over 6000 members nationwide. He was also recognized by the Northern Virginia Association of Realtors as one of the top two Rookies in the entire NOVA area. Since his explosive start Paul has gone on to win numerous RE/MAX and local association awards for his success in Real Estate and has built an award winning team of agents. On a personal side, Paul currently lives in Centreville with his wife, Andrea, and their four children. In his free time, Paul enjoys spending time with his family, golfing, exercising, and being active in his church, St. Timothy Parish.
JASON SMITH - Associate Broker - The Hunter Group Co-Owner Vice President, Recruiting RE/MAX Gateway
Jason Smith was born and raised in the Northern Virginia area and attended Chantilly High School where he played football and was a State Champion in 1996. After graduation he went on to obtain a Marketing degree at Clemson University in South Carolina. His studies included a focus in both real estate and finance combined with internships with local builders such as Winchester Homes. Jason went on to work as a Broker’s assistant with RE/MAX Gateway and The Group Real Estate in Charleston, SC before joining the Hunter Group as a buyer’s agent. Upon joining the Hunter Group in 2003 he enjoyed instant success in crossing the $8,000,000 mark in sales volume for the 2004 fiscal year. He followed that up with almost $9,000,000 in sales volume in 2005 and more than $10,400,000 in 2006. In his career he has sold almost $40,000,000 in real estate volume. Jason has worked himself into a position where he now co-owns The Hunter Group with Paul Hunter, and is the Vice President of Recruiting for RE/MAX Gateway. Having earned his Associate Broker license after only 4 years in the industry, Jason has displayed a commitment to further his real estate credentials and focus on being an industry expert. Jason brings to the team a unique combination of hands on experience in both the resale and new construction market and a selfless work attitude committed to serving his clients beyond their expectations. Having sold homes from Arlington to Culpeper, Jason is willing to go wherever it takes to find the best fit for you and your family. He is a resident of the Brambeton community and enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters, large extended family, playing golf, and coaching little league football.
Phil Vera - Realtor, The Hunter Group
Phil Vera is a native of Northern Virginia. He attended Mclean High School and grew up in Falls Church Virginia. Phil furthered his education at Radford University by attaining his undergraduate degree in Marketing. Phil went back to school after 13 years of work experience to gain his Masters Degree in Business from George Mason University. Phil is an active member of his community. He is an elected official on the Ashburn Farm Board of Trustees. Phil stays active with helping higher education in Virginia as a member of the Business Industry Council at Radford University. Phil is also a member of the George Mason University Century Club. Phil enjoys coaching his daughter’s soccer team and is a member of Saint Theresa’s Parish. Phil married his college sweetheart Holly and has three children Rachel, Megan and Trent. Phil lives in Loudoun County. Phil began his career at Xerox Corporation. He enjoyed eight years of progressive sales, management and training experience. Phil is proud of his accomplishments as a Sales Training Specialist. He impacted hundreds of new employees at Xerox from all over the world. He shared his experience while training them on sales processes and management skills. Phil was a founder of a Virginia Corporation EDGE Office Solutions, Inc. Phil’s top accomplishments as President/CEO of EDGE Office Solutions included growing revenues from $200,000 annual to $5,000,000, achieving double-digit revenue growth for five straight years and being involved with the sale of this business in 2001. EDGE Office Solutions was the fifth largest Authorized Xerox Agency in the country out of 800+ Agencies. Today Phil is investing his time as a Real Estate Consultant for The Hunter Group. Phil feels that his past experience in the business community as well as his active volunteer life affords him the opportunity to offer what people want in a professional Realtor. He offer business acumen, financing knowledge, negotiation skills and a common sense approach to buying and selling your most important asset; your home.
Phil’s feels that the Northern Virginia marketplace is unique. He thinks that the clients that he represents should not settle for just an agent but a business person that can represent them effectively. Phil feels that if you needed a Doctor or Lawyer to represent you that you would want an educated, experienced person with a successful track record. Ryan Cage - Realtor, The Hunter Group
Ryan Cage was born in Virginia before moving to California. He spent only four years there, before moving back to Fairfax, where he grew up for the majority of his life. He graduated from Chantilly High School in 2001 before he went to West Virginia University. Ryan has always had close ties with Morgantown, West Virginia because of his family; also it’s where he met his wife. Ryan worked at West Potomac High School for two years as a Special Education teacher and assistant basketball coach after leaving West Virginia. Ryan brings to the team a hard working attitude and a constant drive to learn more each day. He is willing to go above and beyond the call and will do anything in his power to make your home buying experience a pleasurable one. Ryan enjoys spending time with his family, his two dogs, and going back to West Virginia to relax!
